Surviving the Walk to Work

I like to call this the crosswalk of death. To the right is one of the busiest streets in Daegu. To the left is a farily frequently used sidestreet ang gas station. When you hit this crosswalk you just have to trust in your luck and agility to get through. There are no stoplights or walk signals, so cars can often just come hurtlibg toward you. But hey, if you can dodge traffic, you can dodge a ball!

A Typical Night Out

So you finish up a day at work. You`re tired, exhausted, and all you want to do is go to bed. Well it doesn`t quite work that way over here. After work, which gets out at ten, it`s common to head out to a restaurant for some food and soju.

Someone who speaks Korean will order and soon you`ll be roasting some pork or beef over a bed of coals in the middle of your table. There`s also the side dishes: kimchi, peppers, garlic, and tons of other interesting delicacies. Don`t ask what you`re eating. You`ll be happier not knowing.
